Just wondering. |

The domain itself has been around for at least a year. The GFuserDB was hosted on my own PC at first, as a private project, but later moved to my subdomain here. This happened around the 10th or so of January. It had about 20,000 users when I uploaded it. The forums were created soon after, and my registration date here shows when it was uploaded. I will not use abbrev. |

Ah, all right. So it hasn't been public very long. You have the biggest GF user database I've seen, though. You must either have lots of contributors, or some people with a lot of time on their hands. Or possibly both. >_> Seriously, though, I like it. I've already contributed some names, and I'll be sure to find some more. Edited by tnh at 18/03/2006 9:13:16 AM |

I think the key to the success is that it's so easy to add new users. There's no wait time involved, it's 100% accurate, and requires no maintenance. The only manual work is tracking down inactive users from archives, adding them, and filtering out the ones that were wrong. I will not use abbrev. |

Another problem we're faced with is over 50% of the User IDs between 1635000 and 2990000 belong to GameSpot users. |
