You mean GameSpot, aka GS. This paragraph refers to the actual GameFAQs database. When a GS user posts on a shared board (a board that is shared between both GS and GF) for the first time, his account is added to the GameFAQs user table and assigned a new ID. So the GS user's account exists in both the GS database and the GF database. I'm not sure if it works the same way with GF users. The GFuserDB fetch script will only fetch users from the GameFAQs boards. Shared boards are on GameFAQs, so they can be fetched too. When it finds a GS user, it takes their ID just like any other user. Their ID is the same one in the real GameFAQs database. I will not use abbrev. |

And thanks for the explanation. I wondered if GS accounts were random IDs, because I found a GS account with a user ID around 1 million... |

The merge happened shortly after the millionth user ID. The Ohio State University: We are so much better than m*ch!g@n. |
