This announcement will wreck havoc on the user database:

If you find any usernames that have been changed, post them in the "Manual User Queue" topic. Any accounts below User ID 1013679 were originally created prior to GameSpot accounts receiving their own User ID on GameFAQs. If you see any accounts below User ID 1013679 with an underscore or hyphen in the username, post them on this forum.

So am I right in thinking that changed usernames are just overwriting old names? I've come across a couple of names that have changed, but when I search the user ID in the database to see their old name, it only returns their new name.

Yes, YE added that feature after this topic was posted. Seems to be the only efficient way of dealing with them all.

I just noticed something about the fetcher. It doesn't overwrite usernames that have slightly different capitalization compared to the original username. An example would be the fetcher not overwriting "guwa" with "Guwa" if the fetcher ever did pick up the username "Guwa". I know of one user that has slightly different capitalization as a result of this "Username Reconciliation" thing. So I had to go in and manually edit the username.
